LB1114 SIGNED IN BLAIR

City of Blair was honored to host Governor Jim Pillen as he officially signed LB1114 into Nebraska law yesterday. This legislation creates new opportunities for community development and infrastructure investment across the state through the Community Improvement District Act. Bear Creek Subdivision in Blair is the first development in Nebraska positioned to utilize this tool, helping support the infrastructure that serves our growing community. The City of Blair posted “Today's signing marks another example of Blair leading the way in responsible growth, housing development, and community investment.” Others to speak at the signing included Jason Thiellen, President of the Welcome Home Coalition he spoke regarding the Coalitions efforts to make housing affordable and attainable for Nebraskans. Adam Flanagan with Bluestem Capital Partners also spoke regarding the ability to have this bill assist smaller communities with the affordability to produce the infrastructure to build growing communities all across Nebraska. Also Blair City Administrator, Phil Green spoke on the need for residents to continue to engage their representatives to find way to move their communities forward.
