Blair Police Department hosts National Night Out
The Blair Police Department is inviting the community to come together for an evening of fun, education, and neighborhood connection during this year's National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, at Generations Park. Officer Titus of the Blair Police Department recently stopped by Blair Radio to share details about the annual event, which begins at 6 p.m.
National Night Out is part of a nationwide community-building campaign that encourages partnerships between law enforcement, first responders, local organizations, businesses and the communities they serve. The free event will feature family-friendly activities, public safety demonstrations, community resource booths, entertainment, food and opportunities for residents to meet and interact with local police officers, firefighters, emergency responders and other community partners.
Organizers say National Night Out is designed to strengthen relationships between public safety agencies and the community while highlighting the many organizations and businesses that help make Blair a great place to live.
“We want National Night Out to be more than just a police event; we want it to be a true community event,” said Blair Police Chief Jeremy Kinsey. “Blair is fortunate to have outstanding businesses, organizations, and volunteers who make this community special. We invite them to join us, share information about their services, engage with residents, and help showcase everything that makes Blair a great place to live, work, and raise a family.”
There is still time for local organizations, nonprofits and businesses to get involved. Participation is free, and those interested in hosting a booth or taking part in the event are encouraged to contact the Blair Police Department.
