Rabies, almost always fatal, has been found in a bat in Fremont that bit two adults. If medical attention is sought immediately – before the onset of symptoms, the effects can be mitigated.

The Fremont Police Department advises keeping rabies vaccinations for your dogs and cats up to date, limit their exposure to wild animals and report odd behavior to your nearest animal control officer or veterinarian.
