5 Tekamah juveniles cited for weekend vandalism and theft incidents August 14th - 16th
On the weekend of August 14 -16, 2026 the Tekamah Police Department investigated two residential vandalism reports that caused several thousand dollars of damage to homes in Tekamah. Several juveniles were identified. In the early morning hours, the same suspects were identified as having stolen several hundred dollars of merchandise from a Tekamah business. During the investigation several additional juveniles were identified as having shoplifted items from the same retailer the next night.
As a result, five juveniles all from Tekamah was arrested and released to legal parents/guardians on numerous charges with court dates pending in Burt County Juvenile Court.
14-year-old male: Citation issued for 2 counts curfew violation, 3 counts criminal trespass, 3 counts criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking, minor in possession of alcohol, minor in possession of nicotine

11-year-old male: Citation issued for 3 counts curfew violation, 2 counts criminal trespass, 2 counts criminal mischief, 2 counts theft by unlawful taking, minor in possession of alcohol, minor in possession of nicotine product.
13-year-old male: Citation issued for curfew violation, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking.
14-year-old male: Citation issued for theft by unlawful taking, curfew violation.
9-year-old male: Citation issued for 2 counts curfew violation.
