Washington County Board Update 8.25.21

There were three public hearings yesterday at the Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting. One was for a conditional use permit allowing an accessory building before the construction of a primary building near County Roads 15 and p-10 in Herman. No public comment was heard and the matter was approved.

A lot split at 11465 County road 40 in Bennington also drew no comment and was approved.

The third hearing, however, for preliminary platting of a four lot subdivision, River Ridge Estates near County roads p-15 and River Bend Lane in Arlington, drew comment from three neighbors. One was concerned about flooding on one of the proposed lots, another concerned about widening the road, which would impact her yard, and another neighbor concerned that the lot boundaries abutting the Elkhorn River that may have changed with recent flooding.

The preliminary platting was approved, as was zoning changes.

Shortages and late delivery of parts are delaying the final touches on the Washington County Justice Center, particularly the lift, which now should be complete in the middle of next month.

Also at the Washington County Board of Supervisor’s meeting, discussion on having a facility assessment to show what spaces in the renovated court house can accommodate those offices now in the county annex, probation, County extension, Health and Human services, and then divest the county of the annex building.

Those were just a few of the agenda items for the board of supervisors yesterday.
