Blair City Council Meeting 9-9-2025

BUDGET AND LEVY APPROVED AT LAST NIGHT'S BLAIR CITY COUNCIL MEETING

Though there were a few folks in attendance of the City of Blair’s Budget hearing last night, no citizens voiced their thoughts about that proposed budget.

Later during the regular council meeting that budget was approved. City Administrator Phil Green says the budget for 2025-26 is not as simple as “the bottom line”: In this budget the general fund is going down, previously at 12.5 million, now at 10.3 million due to the completion of the Generations Park. The overall budget, which includes water and waste water plant projects will go up due to bond payments. The "Tax Taking" will be 2.92 percent, but with the city growing at 3.66 percent and the amount goes down for each household. The levy was approved, as well as the one year street improvement plan, installation of a stop sign on 21st at northbound South Street, and a blighted study along Highway 30 east.
