Blair Fire Department Training

Last night, members of the Blair Volunteer Fire Department trained with mutual aid partners from Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue and the Herman Fire Department near 18th & Lincoln Streets. This was with a staged fire for response to buildings set to be removed making it perfect for training exercises. Crews focused on critical firefighting skills including multi-agency coordination and communication and fire ground safety and teamwork.

The Blair Volunteer Fire and Rescue said “These hands-on training opportunities are invaluable. They allow us to work together in a controlled environment, build relationships with neighboring departments, and refine the skills that are needed when real emergencies occur.”

They also wanted to thank everyone involved in making the training possible, including partner departments and the property owners for the use of the structure.

Blair Volunteer Fire and Rescue said “We train hard today so we’re ready when our community needs us tomorrow.”
