City of Blair Update for 9-28-26
Jake Dunn, Public Safety and Communications Coordinator, City of Blair came in Monday Moring to speak about what's happening in the City of Blair. First a reminder that the 1st Responders Softball Tournament has been rescheduled due to field conditions. The new date is Sunday, October 11th with gates opening at noon and first game at 1.
*Safe Streets for all 2nd open house for Blair will be this week, Tuesday, September 29 at 6 pm. Located at the Blair City Council Chambers.
*Blair Airport has new social media pages on Facebook, Instagram, and X. The reminder that the airport has grown over the years to not only serve local but to also be a "rest stop" and refueling station for aircraft traveling acrost the county.
*Events coming up include: Blair Volunteer Fire and Rescue pancake feed with free will offering on October 4 from 7 am to 1 pm. 1st responders softball tournament at BYSA softball complex, October 11th starting at noon. Lights and Frights Blair Police Department event on October 28, 5:30 -7:30 pm.
*Blair Clean up dates. November 6th through 22nd. M - F 4 - 6 pm and Saturdays/Sundays 10 am - 5 pm, all at the utility Barn. Burning within city limits will be allow November 6 - 14 with burn permit that may be obtained at the city hall or North Fire Station. You must follow sun up only burns and contact the Washington County Sheriff prior to lighting the fire.
*Construction Projects with end in sight. Black Elk Road Closure is anticipated to be completed pending weather. Highway 30 Flagging has 1 more day for striping but must wait for a 48 hour window with no rain. Asphalt Project throughout town has 2 more good days before completed. Again Weather dependent.
