HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…
A weekly support group for those who are grieving starts September 8th and runs through December 1st at The Center, 116 North Fourth Street in Missouri Valley. For details, call 712-254-1471
Rayne’s Muzic Fest is August 29th, 30th, and September 1st at the Missouri Valley City Park, 4-H building and campground in Mo Valley. Free admission, though donations are appreciated. Details by calling Rayne at 402-278-3374
The Fort Calhoun Pioneer’s Alumni group is having a Golf Tournament September 20th at River Wilds starting at 8:15am. You can find more details and sign up information online on the Fort Calhoun Pioneers alumni Facebook Page.
Those impacted by the August 9th storms are asked to email their name, address, damage and expected costs to StormDamage2025@washingtoncountyne.gov.
The information will be used to show a need for federal emergency funds.
Mental Health First Aid Training is September 9th and 10th from 8am til noon at CHI Missouri Valley, the cost is 150 dollars, but the first 20 to register will receive the course for free courtesy of the CHI Health Missouri Valley Foundation. A spaghetti feed and silent auction are planned to not only celebrate the 35th anniversary for Clint and Amie Claussen, but to help defray some of the medical costs that the couple is dealing with. That Spaghetti feed is Saturday, September 13th 4:30 to 7:30 at the Blair South Fire station at 16th and Lincoln.
A Living History Weekend is September 6th and 7th starting at 10 am at Fort Atkinson near Fort Calhoun. Full details can be found online at outdoornebraska.gov
