Former Nebraska U.S. Representative Jeff Fortenberry’s conviction is reversed by an appellate court. The ruling Tuesday says the trial venue of Los Angeles was improper because the statements Fortenberry is reported to have said were at his Lincoln home and in his lawyer’s office in Washington.
The conviction was reversed so that Fortenberry can be retried in a proper venue. Fortenberry was tried in Los Angeles for charges related to accepting funds from a Nigerian billionaire.
