Blair Police Summary

MISSOURI VALLEY WOMAN ARRESTED FOR LEAVING CHILDREN IN HOT CAR

   

Blair Police and the Blair Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department responded to a call regarding two small children left unattended in a vehicle in the 2800 block of Angel Share Drive.

   

A Washington County Sheriff’s Sargent, who was nearby, arrived and found those children crying and screaming, he entered the vehicle and recovered the two children. As he was doing this, the mother of the children, a 37 year old Missouri Valley woman approached the Sargent.

    

The children were showing signs of heat exposure, the temperature inside the vehicle was 120 degrees. The mother had been delivering online grocery orders and left the children inside the non-running vehicle for approximately 25 minutes.

   

The children, aged 3 years and 16 months old were treated for heat exposure released to family members and the mother was arrested by Blair Police for felony Child Abuse.
