The City of Blair received ARPA funds – federal dollars from the America Rescue Plan Act. Those funds will be applied to improving the Water Treatment Plant. At this week’s Blair City Council meeting, approval was given by the council to use 1.5 million dollars to replace some obsolete equipment at the water plant. Blair Public Works Director Al Shoemaker told the council Tuesday night that finding parts for some of the machines at the plant is getting difficult because the technology has changed over the past few years.
Also at that meeting, approval was given to update Blair Code to match that of the International Building Code. Current code is from 2009. That measure was approved.
