SHOOTING IN ARLINGTON THIS AFTERNOON, SUSPECT WOUNDED



Shortly after 2pm today, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over a vehicle in Arlington for a traffic violation – the female driver was recognized as having a suspended license according to Washington County deputies.

  

Sheriff Mike Robinson says male passenger in the vehicle was known to have a warrant for his arrest. The driver left the vehicle. The passenger got out of the vehicle with a handgun and began firing shots at officers. Officers returned fire, the suspect was shot and wounded and taken to UNMC by helicopter.

   

The shooting is being investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol. Blair Radio News will provide more details as they are made available.
