A man who had been imbibing alcohol had a disagreement with his parents while riding with them Sunday evening. He attempted to jump out of a moving vehicle in the 16 thousand block of Highway 75. That person was given a ride to Herman by the Washington County Sheriff’s office.


Also on Sheriff Mike Robinson’s report for the weekend – an arrest after a traffic stop in the early hours Sunday of a 52 year old male at Highway 133 and County Road 36 for possession of a controlled substance, no proof of insurance and other drug related charges.


Deputies aided with traffic control during a brush fire at County Roads 19 and 20, an illegal burn in the 4600 block of Washington Avenue, another illegal burn in Herman earlier Friday as well.


Additionally, a person running alongside the roadway on Highway 133 and County Road P-28 Friday evening, ended up being a person preparing for basic training with the Air Force.


Sheriff Mike Robinson reminds Washington County residents that a state wide burn ban is in effect through April 10th, this includes fire pits.
