The Blair Citizen's Police Academy will be held on Tuesdays in September, 8th through the 29th from 6:30 to 9:30pm. The Citizen’s Police Academy gives participants a closer look at the structure, functions, and daily operations of the Blair Police Department.
Topics include uniform patrol, criminal investigations, defensive tactics, firearms instruction, and other law enforcement-related activities. Instruction includes classroom discussion and hands-on experiences, with all hands-on participation being voluntary. Live firearms will not be used. Participants will learn about Uniform Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Defensive Tactics, Firearm Safety and Instruction, Police Equipment Demonstrations, Facility Tour, Ride-Along Opportunity, and Criminal Justice System Overview.
Participants must be a resident of the City of Blair, over with a clean record and over 21.
To apply, complete the Citizen’s Police Academy Application and return it to the Blair Police Department by August 29, 2026. The application includes basic contact information, background authorization, and questions about the applicant’s interest in the program.
